Sharing a Reunion Story
Celebrate your pet's safe return by sharing your reunion story with the FoundYa community.
When your lost pet is found and safely home, you can share a reunion story - a short post that celebrates the recovery and shows the community that the system works.
Creating a reunion story
After marking your pet as found in the app:
- You'll be prompted to share a reunion story
- Add a photo of your reunited pet (the happier, the better)
- Write a short thank you message - what happened, how they were found, and who helped
- Submit the story
Your story is published on the FoundYa reunions page, visible to the public.
What's included
- Your pet's name and photo
- Your first name (not your full name, email, or address)
- Your thank you message
- Any additional photos you choose to add
- The date of the reunion
Info
Sharing a reunion story is completely optional. You can mark your pet as found without creating a story.
Why share
- Builds community trust - other pet owners see that FoundYa works and are more likely to sign up or become Sentinels
- Thanks the people who helped - finders, Sentinels, and neighbours deserve recognition
- Creates a positive record - your story may encourage someone else who's dealing with a missing pet
