What Finders See When They Tap Your Tag
A look at the public profile that appears when someone taps or scans your pet's tag.
When a finder taps your pet's NFC tag (or scans the QR code), they see a public profile page in their phone's browser. No app download or account is required on their end.
What's shown
The finder sees:
- Your pet's photo and name - large and clear so they can confirm they have the right animal
- Breed and age - helps the finder provide context if they contact you
- A "Contact Owner" button - opens a messaging thread so the finder can reach you without either party sharing phone numbers or email addresses
- Lost mode banner - if you've activated lost mode, a prominent alert tells the finder this pet is reported missing and encourages immediate action
What's not shown
Your personal details - name, email, phone number, and home address - are never displayed on the public profile unless you explicitly add them to the offline vCard. The messaging system keeps both parties anonymous until you choose to share more.
You control exactly what appears on the public profile. Visit your pet's detail page in the dashboard to review and update what's visible to finders.
Offline mode
If the finder has no internet signal, the NFC chip can still deliver your contact details via an offline vCard stored directly on the chip. This is configured during tag registration.
